Gorsey Clough appears in the Manchester Evening News today! The Newspaper reports on the implementation of SPECAL (Specialised Early Care for Alzheimer's) at the Home and interviewed both Collette, the Home Manager and Mr. Eric Dalton, the husband of Mrs. Vera Dalton who is one of our Residents for the story.    

The article outlined how our Staff are trained to let Residents re-experience their long term memories at will, and never force them back into the 'real world' or tell them they're wrong. It also discussed how we encourage our Residents to follow their own 'missions' and Staff being trained to work around these missions resulting in far more relaxed and happier Residents. An example of a Resident's mission is a lady deciding to wear her coast inside all day and not being persuaded to remove it; as in many care homes.
