Gorsey Clough has been awarded a maximum three star 'excellent' quality rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the body that regulates care services in England. A three star rating is the highest quality rating for a care home provider to achieve and is equivalent to a five star quality rating in the hotel and hospitality industry! Quality ratings are calculated following a key inspection and as part of that inspection, the CQC looks at a range of evidence from different sources including:
To ensure Inspectors interpret this evidence consistently, they use guidelines called key lines of regulatory assessment (KLORA). They apply these guidelines to help them form a judgement about how well our serivce is meeting each of the outcome groups in the national minimum standards. An Inspector's primary concern is to assess the quality of outcomes that people who use our service, experience. Once the Inspector has used KLORA to reach a judgement about each outcome area of the National Minimum Standards, Inspectors apply a set of rules to calculate the overall quality rating of our service. Hopefully, it wil be available to download and view in the next couple of weeks.
