Job Purpose
As a nurse, you will ensure the highest possible standard of care in a professional manner through direct nursing care and effective supervision of Staff Members. You will also take responsibility for Client care, in the absence of the Nurse Sister.
Key Responsibilities
As a Nurse, your main responsibilities will include:
- Acting in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Assessing the individual needs of Residents and ensure that they receive the highest standards of holistic care and attention.
- Participating fully in the overall care of Residents as per the Care Plan.
- Giving guidance and training to other staff and to provide clinical support as required.
- Assisting in maintaining safe levels of care, monitoring standards of care and ensuring safe practice.
- Assisting in the maintenance of accurate records in accordance with registration and legal requirements.
- Advising the GP of any concern regarding Residents and keep them informed of their Residents' condition.
- Helping deploy staff efficiently in relation of duties to be covered.
- Being responsible for the safe administration of drugs in accordance with company policy.
- Supervising closely all duties involved with seriously ill Residents.
- Assisting in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring adherence to the Home's Health & Safety and Welfare policies and procedures.
- Duty to whistleblow if witness bad practice or harm to a Resident within the Home.
- Duty to inform the Home Manager if NMC commences investigation into practice.
Person Specification
We are looking for motivated people who can demonstrate the following:
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Genuine interest in working with the relevant client group.
- Ability to work within a legislative framework.
- Satifactory police check and check against POVA List (where applicable).
- Team player.
- Experience/qualification in care for relevant Client category.
- Previous supervisory experience.
